At Wright Choice Pest Control, LLC, we want to help you protect your home from a variety of pests, including cockroaches, ants, rodents, and more. Here in Georgia, one of the most important pests to be on the lookout for is termites, as these insects can do serious damage to your home. In this article, our team will discuss a few ways to tell if termites are present on your property.

- Wings – One sign of termite activity in your home is their shed wings. Once a termite swarm reaches a new colony site, the insects shed their wings, as they no longer need them to fly to a new home. Shed termite wings resemble glitter or shreds of plastic, and if you see them around your home, you should give us a call to schedule termite treatment.
- Frass – Another sign you need termite treatment is the presence of frass, or termite droppings. You will most often see frass around small holes in your wood floors, furniture, or paneling, where the termites bored into the material. The droppings themselves are tiny, resembling ground pepper or sawdust.
- Damaged Wood – A third sign you need termite treatment is damage to your wood. Unfortunately, this sign can be hard to spot, as termites chew through wood from the inside, so the surface can appear intact while the center is being eaten from within. We recommend regularly testing your wood by knocking on it—if the piece of wood sounds hollow, you should schedule a termite inspection.
If you notice any of the signs outlined here, we encourage you to give us a call to schedule termite treatment right away.
